In a bid to grow its digital footprint, Walgreens has promoted its eCommerce president, Sona Chawla, to both president of digital and chief marketing officer, Internet Retailer reported on November 21, 2013.
Chawla previously worked at Dell, serving as the company’s vice president of global online business. In a statement, she said that Walgreens’ digital presence has to grow to meet the rise in new consumer channels.
“Our goal is to optimize our marketing investments and mix to reach consumers where they are, as their use of digital media continues to escalate,” Chawla said, according to Internet Retailer. “This means more than just adding digital media to our marketing portfolio. We also will adopt a digital mindset throughout our marketing efforts.”
