Mt. Gox To Offer Direct Bank Deposits

Mt. Gox, an online cryptocurrency exchange based in Japan, is collaborating with Astropay, a Latin American payments solutions provider, to offer direct bank deposits for customers in a number of Central and South American countries, The Paypers reported on December 9.

    Mt. Gox users in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay will be allowed to make deposits from their bank account once the rollout is complete.

    This move follows a steep drop in bitcoin’s value that occurred after the Chinese government moved to restrict use of the virtual currency within its borders.
