TSYS, the payments company, announced Tuesday (Oct. 17) the election of two new members to its board of directors, bringing the total number to 12.

In a press release, the company said it appointed Thaddeus Arroyo, chief executive officer of AT&T Business, and Richard A. Smith, chief executive officer and president of Realogy Holdings Corp., as the two new board members. Arroyo will serve on the technology committee while Smith will be on the compensation committee, noted the company.

“Thaddeus and Richard bring vast knowledge and expertise from their respective industries to TSYS,” said M. Troy Woods, chairman, president and chief executive officer of TSYS, in the press release. “We welcome these well-respected, highly-regarded executives who will serve as invaluable assets, as we continue to expand our presence in the rapidly evolving payments industry.”

According to TSYS, Arroyo brings deep experience in the business technology solutions market. In his current role, his unit serves close to 3.5 million business customers in nearly 200 countries, including almost all of the world’s Fortune 1000 countries. Prior to his current role as CEO of AT&T Business, Arroyo was CEO of AT&T Mexico, where he led the ongoing expansion of AT&T high-speed mobile network and distribution channels in Mexico. The executive was also in charge of transforming AT&T’s technology strategy. As chief information officer at AT&T, he was widely recognized “for its thought leadership and creativity in technology innovation and execution.”

Meanwhile, TSYS said Smith, as the CEO of Realogy Holdings Corp., oversees more than 277,000 sales agents, with franchised offices in more than 100 countries. Realogy Holdings is a technology-enabled provider of residential real estate services. Smith is a member of the Business Roundtable and previously served as a commissioner on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Housing Commission.
