EU/US: Discovery snags channels across Northern Europe

Germany-based broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has successfully made sales of various radio and television channels across Northern Europe to Discover Communications. The sale to the US company will give the media group various channels within Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. While the deal remains subject to antitrust approval, reports value the acquisition at about $1.7 billion. ProSiebenSat.1 announced the news in Munich.
