The Federal Communications Commission has announced its choice to lead the review of the proposed merger between Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
According to reports, FCC attorney Hillary Berchuk will head the team that will review the deal. Her deputy will be Wireline Competition Bureau Bill Dever, according to reports.
The FCC also announced that Jamillia Padua Ferris will lead the merger review of AT&T’s proposed acquisition of DirecTV. Ferris is a partner at Hunton & Williams and will work out of the Office of General Counsel, according to reports. She previously worked at the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.
Both the FCC and DOJ are tasked with reviewing both multibillion dollar deals that could overhaul the nation’s media industry. .
