New Wahlburgers App Offers Order-Ahead And Rewards

Wahlburgers App Offers Order-Ahead, Rewards

Wahlburgers, the burger bar and restaurant made famous for its association with movie star Mark Wahlberg, as well as a popular TV show, has introduced a mobile ordering app that offers exclusive rewards for users.

The app allows customers to order on their phones, and to access limited-time offers, a store location feature and some exclusive content. The app is also linked to the WahlClub loyalty program. For every dollar spent using the app, customers will get a loyalty point.

“At Wahlburgers, we think of our guests like family, and we wanted to come up with a way to thank them for their continued support throughout the years,” Co-founder Paul Wahlberg said in a press release. “We thought an interactive mobile app that allows guests to order in advance and provides access to member-only benefits through the WahlClub would be a great way to show our appreciation.”

There are 32 locations of the famous restaurant throughout the United States and the U.K.

Just for signing up, customers can get a free order of tots, a frappe on their birthday and access to rewards for accumulating points. If a customer earns 75 points, they will be eligible for a free side of tots, onion rings or fries. For 150 points, they can get a Brother’s Choice Burger or a Wahlbowl. At 500 points, they can get a free T-shirt or hat.

The app is available for download in the App Store or Google Play Store, and is not yet available in Canada or the U.K.

Order-ahead technology is becoming more and more popular in the restaurant business. Fast-casual restaurant and bakery Panera Bread recently announced partnerships with DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats to expand its mobile ordering options. When ordering through the third-party platforms, food is delivered by Panera’s drivers. Delivery orders currently account for 7 percent of the chain’s total sales.

Third-party platforms are also expanding their capabilities. Postmates recently introduced group ordering, enabling customers to create groups and set dollar limits for each person. The group creator can also set tip amounts before orders are placed. Postmates’ group ordering option lacks several features offered by its competitors, however, including bill splitting with Venmo and allowing an entire office to place a single order.
