They say “no news is good news” but as a news organization, we have mixed feelings about that. It’s not quite that simple, however, as we go to the Rankings and see what’s what.

    The Top 5

We’ll give the ending away right now: there are no changes in the Top 5 Coupon Apps. At No. 1 again this month is cash-back app Ibotta, which hit a $1 billion valuation in August. At No. 2 is Groupon, with weekly deals app Flipp holding at No. 3, followed by prescription discount app GoodRx at No. 4. Finishing out the Top 5 at No. 5 for another month is the Honey savings app.

    The Top 10

Rank position consistency crossed the Top 5 threshold this month, extending into No. 6 ranked GasBuddy fuel savings app and No. 7 ranked Rakuten, the popular rewards app.

Things get more interesting among the chart-climbers, as always, and this month is no different. Coupons.com rises one spot to take No. 8 this time out, and coupon aggregator app RetailMeNot enters the Top 10 at No. 9. Closing out PYMNTS’ September Provider Ranking of Coupon Apps is shopping activity rewards app ShopKick which drops two spots but stays in the Top 10 at No. 10.
