Shopping App Rankings Exhibit The Power Of ‘Retail Therapy’

Shoppers want to shop. Give ‘em an app to do it with and stand back, because shop they will, whether on lockdown from home or wandering store aisles. PYMNTS’ latest Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps might as well be an afternoon at Pimlico, because it’s a bona fide horse race.

The Top 5

Where to begin? How about Walmart at No. 1, grabbing the top spot from archrival Amazon which at No. 3 this month drops two spots. Sandwiched between these titans at No. 2 is SHEIN, the fast-fashion eCommerce platform. And yes, we presented them out of order on purpose.

It starts getting a bit wild now, with mobile-first consumer-to-consumer marketplace OfferUp rising five spots to land at No. 4. Ebay retains its No. 5 poll position in the latest Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps.

The Top 10

Things are equally competitive in the lower half of the top 10 this time as the Wish app drops two spots to No. 6, AliExpress drops one spot to grab No. 7, and Alibaba comes in at No. 8.

The Nike app steps down one spot to come in at No. 9 on the latest Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps, and closing it out at No. 10 is social commerce app Poshmark entering the Top 10 at No. 10 for the first time.
