Abercrombie Closing Stores, While Web Sales Are Up

Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’s online revenues increased more than 36% in 2011, from $406 million in 2010 to $552.6 million.

E-commerce is representing a larger share of Abercrombie’s total business as well. In 2011, online sales accounted for 13.3% of the clothing retailer’s total business; a year ago, that ratio was at 11.7%.

Meanwhile, Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries says his firm may end up closing roughly 300 of its stores between 2010 and 2015, including 71 closures in 2011, according to Internet Retailer.
