Burger King Says It Will Launch Its Own Mobile Payment App

    Working with Firethorn Mobile (a Qualcomm subsidiary), Burger King will test its BK Mobile Crown Card payment program at 50 restaurant locations in Salt Lake City — notably, the site of Isis’ mobile wallet launch planned for later this year.

    To enable payment, a static QR code is displayed on the POS terminal. Burger King’s mobile app then accesses the device’s camera, allowing the consumer to scan that code and complete the transaction.
