Orange Money Drives Financial Growth in Developing Markets

Wireless provider Orange Money has recently announced that more than 4 million customers now use its Orange Money mobile payment service in Africa and the Middle East.

By providing the unbanked with access to financial services via their mobile devices, customers can transfer funds, set up savings accounts and make payments using the services.

According to Orange, the growth of its service in the countries where it operates indicates a healthy consumer appetite for a simple and practical mobile payment service where people have limited access to bank accounts but are equipped with mobile phones.
