Top 15 E-Tailer To Spend $40M On eCommerce

W.W. Grainger Inc., an Illinois-based business supply distributor with more than $8 billion in 2011 sales, will spend $40 million to upgrade its online sales operations over the next four years, according to Internet Retailer.

    Grainger says the move helps the company prepare for the future as more of its customers move their buying operations to the web. The firm currently estimates that 25% of its 1.2 million customers buy online, Internet Retailer says, and Paul Miller, the company’s vice president of e-commerce, thinks that ratio could quickly grow to 40%.
