Recently intensified mandates from Visa and MasterCard, combined with multiple successful transitions across the globe, suggest the adoption of EMV will only expand in the future — and into the United States. But some sticky issues, like concerns about fraud liability and terminal upgrade expense, still need addressing. We talk to VeriFone Vice President David Talach for answers.

   


David Talach 
Vice President – Global Product Management, VeriFone

Mr. Talach joined VeriFone in 2004, with a specific focus on energizing VeriFone’s Wireless Product Line. Over that time his responsibility has expanded to include VeriFone’s Global Product Management Organization, Global Product Roadmap & Strategy.

The Global Product Management team is responsible for defining, designing, and delivering customer centric solutions to the market; this includes creating or indentifying global payment trends in the 110+ countries VeriFone products are sold into.

Before joining VeriFone, he was an early employee at Research In Motion, and witnessed the evolution of the BlackBerry smart-phone. His responsibility at that time included licensing wireless technology to Payment Providers.

Mr. Talach is a Proud Canadian, who currently resides in Sacramento California, with his wife Sarah.
