Brits Spend £640 A Year Due To Drunk Mobile Shopping

New research from UK mobile network operator Giffgaff indicated that British consumers are paying over £638 million a year because of drunk mobile phone activity such as app purchases and mobile shopping. Seventy percent of British participants revealed they made drunken financial promises through a mobile text, which cost them money they claimed they would not have committed to if sober. Additionally, the survey showed that 68 percent admitted to having shopped online and even taken out payday loans while drunkenly using their mobile phones.

    About 90 percent of respondents were smartphone customers, which GiffGaff indicated meant that the majority of users were making drunken purchases through mobile shopping apps and retail apps.
