Earthport Enhances Remittance Programs In North Africa

Earthport, a cross-border payments service provider, announced the launch of an automated payment service in Morocco, a press release from the company reports. The payment service will enable customers to make more efficient and transparent low- value money transfers. This roll out represents Earthport’s first payment service in North Africa. The payments provider decided to expand do the region due to a growing demand of lower costs in payments and remittance programs. Paul Thomas, executive director at Earthport stated, “Morocco is a key remittance market in North Africa and an important addition to our global network of countries with local clearing capabilities. Earthport’s specialist role in cross-border payments, means our clients reap the benefits of our country-specific regulatory understanding, local payment data framework and system connectivity standards, enabling them to launch new payment services quickly and cost effectively.”
