eBay Mobile App Overhaul Includes Driver’s License Scanning, Multi-Item Checkout

eBay now allows new mobile app users to sign up for their service simply by scanning the barcode on the back of their driver’s license in a move that coincided with other noteworthy updates for the company’s avid smartphone user base.

The company says eBay mobile app users will also see larger photo views, an improved system for ending auctions and be able to checkout multiple items simultaneously. However, the ID feature is still limited.

TechCrunch indicated that “the feature is only available in some U.S. states for now, but should roll out to other areas in the coming weeks and months.”

EBay also updated its iPad app for an easier multi-item checkout, simplified shipping and streamlined photo uploading.
