Former Where CEO Paul Doyle Leaves PayPal

After serving as the payment company’s general manager for two years, Walt Doyle is leaving PayPal, Newsle reports.

Doyle is best known for his work as the CEO of mobile tech startup Where, which was acquired by PayPal in a deal worth more than $130 million in 2011.

This led the news outlet to speculate on Doyle’s next move, which at present has not yet been revealed.

“He is one of the Boston area’s leading experts in mobile technologies and payments, but more broadly he has strong business instincts in areas such as consumer products, media, and publishing,” the media outlet wrote.

The move could also affect PayPal’s local strategy, the source speculated.
