Square Streamlines Checkout With Wallet Update

Square has announced an update to its Square Wallet offering that will allow cashiers to take payments without swiping a physical credit card, according to 9 to 5 Mac.

The Square 3.0 app will now automatically check in users to their favorite stores when they open the application. This function will allow cashiers to see the names of customers on the screen of their Square Registers, and then take payments via a QR code at select locations like Starbucks.

The media outlet called the redesign “media-rich” and a “much-welcomed update” to the service.
