Can mPOS Move the Revenue Needle for FIs?

It used to be that small businesses and banks were two peas in a pod. Small businesses turned to banks when they started their businesses or wanted to grow their businesses, and banks, in turn, were able to offer a portfolio of solutions that met their needs. The combination of the financial crisis and emerging innovators have given banks fewer tools to offer and SMBs other places to turn to for those products.

In fact, recent reports suggest that only 35 percent of FIs feel that they have solid plans for how to engage SMBs and recapture that aspect of their revenue mix.

That’s where mPOS might make a difference. SMBs of all types now have better options for getting paid using point of sale options that even a few years ago weren’t feasible for them. And, who better than FIs to not only make those solutions available to them, but to help them integrate those solutions into their bigger business picture?

But, as well positioned as FIs may be to extend their range of services to include mPOS, a host of questions remain. What type of product is best suited for FIs, and what capabilities are required in order to best serve their SMBs? What is the business model that supports it? How should FIs go to market with such a solution?

This digital discussion, to be held on December 4 at 11 a.m. EST, will feature experts at the intersection of mPOS and financial services, and offer a point of view on how to actually use mPOS to not just better serve SMBs, but to open new revenue opportunities for SMBs.
