Alibaba announced its March quarter earnings today (May 5) — along with its full fiscal year 2016 results — and it appears that Alibaba has made a turnaround from where it was a year ago.
Mobile, of course, was a major highlight of the company's earnings report as Alibaba has a rapidly growing mobile commerce base. But that wasn't the only place Alibaba's numbers popped this time around.
Here's the skinny — or the PYMNTS 5-in-1 — on Alibaba's earnings day:
$3.75 billion | Alibaba's quarterly revenue – a 39 percent YOY increase.
$3 billion |The payment volume transacted through Alipay in the quarter on Koubei, Alibaba's local services joint venture with Ant Financial.
410 Million | Alibaba's active mobile users — an increase of 17 million users from the December 2015 quarter.
$115 Billion | Total GMV transacted on Alibaba's China retail marketplaces — a 24 percent YOY increase.
$84 Billion | The approximate amount of mobile GMV transacted on Alibaba's China retail marketplaces (73 percent of total GMV).
