Rackspace And mShopper Team Up For Streamlined M-Commerce

Cloud specialist company Rackspace Hosting announced this week that it is working with mShopper, a mobile commerce organization, to create a smoother and more streamlined experience for customers.

According to a Rackspace press release, it will give mShopper global load balancing, firewalls and security features, additional app servers and a better disaster recovery solution. mShopper executives said that its load time on mobile devices has dropped over 30 percent to 3.5 seconds or less since it started working with Rackspace.

CEO of mShopper David Gould also commented on the positive outcomes from the partnership.

“When 61 percent of your prospects will leave your site if it’s not optimized for mobile, having a piecemeal, poorly thought out mobile experience is no longer an option,” Gould said. “Rackspace provides us with the best-fit infrastructure to optimize performance, along with Fanatical Support that allows us to focus less on managing our cloud infrastructure and more on our core business.”

Rackspace chief technology officer John Engates explained that with more customers adopting smart phones and tablets, there is a huge e-commerce market. mShopper and other solution providers thus need high levels of support and performance to expand at the necessary rate and to seamlessly.
