When Android Pay launched in Canada in May 2017, users were told that American Express would receive support “coming later this summer.” According to Tech Crunch, support for Canadian AmEx users just went live in Android’s mobile payments platform.

American Express joins other major Canadian banks supported by Android Pay on a list that also includes InteracMastercard and Visa credit and debit cards. The platform now allows Canadian customers to use AmEx to pay at contactless payment terminals or to make in-app purchases with a simple tap of a button.

Android Pay holdouts in Canada include TD Canada Trust and Royal Bank.
