Electronic invoicing and settlement solutions provider PayCargo, which targets the shipping and logistics industry, will integrate payments processing into Unisys Corporation’s Digistics solution, the companies announced this week.

A press release issued Monday (June 10) said PayCargo’s payment processing services will be added into air cargo management platform Digistics, enabling corporate users to process payments in real time, as well as to create and schedule payments. The integration also supports payments tracking for freight forwarders and importers, as well as remittance validation for airlines, all aiming to boost visibility into the movement of funds as they flow through the supply chain for faster delivery.

“By adding payment capabilities into Unisys software, PayCargo gives users on both sides of a transaction visibility into billing, which will enable them to address any issues immediately and make payments more efficiently,” explained PayCargo Chief Operating Officer Juan Dieppa in a statement. “Unisys has for decades leveraged the power of the Web to allow their clients to book, manage and control air cargo transactions securely and reliably in a cloud-based, software-as-a-service model, and now payment data as well.”

In another statement, Unisys Vice President and Global Head of Travel and Transportation Dheeraj Kohli said the integration will “better meet the needs of the cargo market.”

“PayCargo is the only payment processor and provider of funding options that has partnered with a solution like ours,” he said. “By allowing clients to integrate their capabilities into our software, we are able to provide real-time payment visibility for improved cash management — creating a seamless, transparent and user-friendly environment for our clients to reduce their administrative costs and better manage electronic payments for their business.”
