Same-Day Delivery Now Available at Sephora

Sephora is expanding same-day delivery of makeup, hair, skincare and other wellness and beauty products at checkout on its website or mobile app for a flat $6.95 fee, Chain Store Age reported.

The move is part of Sephora’s Beauty on Demand omnichannel fulfillment portal. Orders are fulfilled by in-store associates and then given to a courier for direct delivery to customers, according to the report.

Same-day delivery by courier is for orders placed by 4 p.m., and anything received after that time will go out the next day and be delivered by 8 p.m., according to an announcement on the Sephora website. The service is offered in select cities seven days a week.

“You will receive a confirmation email when we receive your order, and then an additional confirmation email once the order is en route to your location,” Sephora stated in the announcement.

Delivery status can be tracked in the Sephora app, which also offers near real-time notifications, according to the announcement. Sephora also offers buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) service at all stores and curbside pickup at most locations.

Sephora is also bringing its Home Chat function back online, now called Live Beauty Help, which connects shoppers to the store’s beauty advisors, who can assist customers in deciding the best product or application for their needs, the Chain Store Age report stated.

In September 2020, Sephora partnered with Instacart for same-day delivery as fast as one hour.

The Instacart tie-up also gives customers the ability to select promotions from Sephora’s Beauty Insider loyalty program and earn points on every Sephora order placed on the Instacart app, according to the Chain Store Age report.

Instacart also created a new shopping design for consumers so they could easily shop Sephora’s offerings and use a one-click shade selector to discover personalized color palettes, the report stated.
