Mozido’s Digital Wallet Being Used By 14 Banks In TWMP

Mozido, a global provider of digital commerce and payment services, announced on Thursday (Aug. 11) that 14 banks that are part of the Taiwan Mobile Payment Co. (TWMP) consortium have adopted its HCE technology.

The HCE technology provides a mobile wallet capability for the consortium banks that support consumers using HCE cloud-based NFC phones. TWMP is one of the first HCE implementations around the world and is the first to go with Mozido HCE, the company said. According to the company, the remaining 12 banks in the consortium will launch later in 2016.

“We appreciate all the support provided by Mozido and expect a great success in commercial launch,” said Wei-Jong Pan, president of Taiwan Mobile Payment Co., in a press release announcing the new customers. “Mozido’s demonstrated strength in mobile wallet platforms, along with its ability to combine payments technologies into existing applications, makes them the best partner for us in our endeavor to bring faster and easier mobile payments to consumers.”

The Taiwan Mobile Payment Co. consortium was created to build a mobile payments initiative nationwide in an effort to move the nation toward one in which cash isn’t necessary. Mozido is providing a mobile wallet platform that has HCE cloud-based NFC capabilities in one solution. The company is providing tokenization and detokenization services for quick and secure mobile payment transactions for consumers using mobile applications supported by TWMP.

“We are delighted to partner with TWMP to provide this innovative solution to consumers in Taiwan,” said Scott Moore, Mozido general manager of Asia-Pacific, in the press release. “Utilizing Mozido’s sophisticated and all-in-one solution to provide complete HCE mobile wallet capabilities provides outstanding flexibility and convenience to TWMP bank customers.”

Earlier this year, Mozido partnered with Saavn, a streaming music service in India, in which Mozido’s mobile wallet will be integrated as the preferred payment option for the streaming music service’s premium offering. The company also has a partnership in Indonesia.
