Netspend, a leading provider of prepaid card solutions, announced that it has named Jeff Johnson as senior vice president for Commercial Prepaid.

According to a press release, Johnson has 20 years of experience in the prepaid industry, working to create products, boost revenue and control spending at different companies. Most recently, he served as chief sales and marketing officer/chief revenue officer for Card Compliant, LLC. Before that, he was the senior vice president and division manager for Prepaid Services at First Data Corporation. He has also served on the board of the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association for the last five years.

“We’re excited to have Jeff on the team. He’s a proven entrepreneur with an impressive record of growing and scaling payments businesses,” said Chuck Harris, president of Netspend.

Based in Austin, Texas, Netspend is the prepaid provider of choice for self-banked consumers and the brands that serve them. Customers can find Netspend prepaid cards at nationwide locations, such as check cashers, convenience stores, supermarkets and more.

In his role at the company, Johnson will manage the company’s Commercial Prepaid channel, which offers a variety of services, including paycard programs that allow businesses and employees to do away with the hassle of distributing and cashing paper checks. He will also oversee the Tip Network, which helps tip-based businesses eliminate checkout slips and cash envelopes for a more streamlined system.

“I’m thrilled to join a team committed to helping our partners grow their businesses and take care of their employees,” said Johnson. “We offer so much more than paycards, and I know Netspend’s dedication to creativity and collaboration will bring us opportunities to succeed and grow.”
