PSCU Taps New Leaders To Advance Products, Innovation

PSCU has appointed Denise Stevens as senior vice president and chief product officer, while Scott Young will head the product delivery leadership team as vice president of innovation, PSCU announced today (Feb. 10).

Stevens will oversee product delivery and management, as well as its innovation teams. She will also manage the PSCU’s strategic partnerships, and its Enterprise Project Management Office. For the past four years, she was senior vice president of product development and innovation. She will continue to report to Tom Gandre, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“As the nation’s premier payments credit union service organization [CUSO] and a leader in the credit union industry, PSCU is continuously looking for ways to meet and exceed the expectations of the credit unions we serve,” said Gandre. “Denise shares this same commitment, dedication and vision. With her leadership, we feel the product delivery and innovation teams will continue to help us deliver seamless experiences to our owner credit unions and their members.”

Young will lead the innovation, product integration and product design teams. He joins PSCU from Bank-Fund Staff FCU in Washington, D.C., where he served as vice president of payments. He handled all aspects of payment operations, including strategic planning, innovation and risk management. Young will report to Stevens.

“We see the speed of technology progress rising at an exponential rate, and consumer adoption getting faster. As such, it is critical for PSCU to drive the pace within the credit union and financial services industries,” said Stevens. “With Scott in his new role, we believe PSCU and our innovation, product integration and product design teams will be well-positioned to continue bringing value to our owner credit unions to meet evolving market demands and consumer expectations.”

As a CUSO, PSCU supports 1,500 credit unions, representing more than 3.8 billion transactions annually.

PSCU said in November that it predicts a rush in 2020 to adopt contactless cards. The company has already rolled out more than a half-million contactless cards to members from 14 owner credit unions through natural reissuance.

This year, PSCU anticipates that it will distribute more than 3 million new contactless cards to 100-plus credit unions.
