The Restaurant Readiness Index

The PYMNTS.com Restaurant Readiness Index™, in collaboration with Bypass, analyzes how QSRs are doing when it comes to innovation. Namely, are they being innovative and are their features adding to customers’ experiences? We studied 178 QSRs, including six large restaurant chains in 10 different segments and two groups of restaurants. The bulk of the sample includes 172 restaurants that range from eight to 2,630 locations.

Inside the October study:

  • 62 percent: Share of QSR customers who say digital innovations would make them more likely to visit QSRs in the future
  • 84 percent: Portion of QSR customers who report having positive overall experiences with ordering online or via app
  • 13 percent: Share of QSR customers who pay in person with self-service kiosks
