Philippe Bergevin joined the Institute in September 2009. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics (2004) from HEC Montreal and a B.A. in Economics (2002) from Glendon College. From 2005 to 2009, Philippe worked as an Analyst for the Parliamentary Information and Research Service of the Library of Parliament. His duties included drafting the committee reports of – and providing research support for – the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance and the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce of theParliament of Canada. He also provided analysis and policy advice to individual parliamentarians and authored numerous research papers as part of the research program. Philippe also held previous positions as an economist at Investissement Quebec and at an investment company located in Montreal. His main areas of expertise include financial services, monetary policy, macroeconomics and trade.
