Australia’s CommBank Blames Google for Holdup with NFC Payments

Kaching was released for iOS last October, and by February had been downloaded more than 100,000 times. Now CommBank says the Android version of Kaching will be released within the next two months — albeit missing a key feature.

“Our challenge on Android, frankly, has been [the fact that] we’ve been waiting for NFC clarity from Google. We haven’t got it, so we’ve made a decision to go ahead and get Kaching out there with some other features that we think people will love,” said Andy Lark, CommBank’s chief marketing officer, in an interview with ZDNet.
