An estimated 100 million NFC-enabled smartphone devices might be shipped to consumers across the world this year, based on the latest estimate from Forrester Research.
Despite the fact that that number would be double the total in 2011, Forrester says it expects mainstream use of NFC to be “three to five years away” across most parts of the globe.
