2 Men Arrested In Target Investigation

Federal authorities have revealed the arrest of two men at the U.S.-Mexican border as part of the ongoing Target data breach investigation.

It’s not clear if the two men, both of whom are from Monterrey, Mexico, are connected to the POS malware blamed for the attack. The two carried a sizable amount of credit card numbers, the L.A. Times reported.

A Target spokesperson referred questions about the arrest to law enforcement officials.

Whether this arrest leads to any substantial leads in the investigation remains to be seen. As Market Platform Dynamics CEO Karen Webster pointed out in a recent commentary, the repercussions of the act “will be heard throughout the payments industry for years to come.”
