GE Retail Rethinks Synchrony Brand Name

After announcing its new brand name Synchrony and hearing people complain about how much trouble they have pronouncing its name, GE has chosen a new name which it hopes will appeal to everyone.

After attending what insiders are referring to as a “life-changingly meaningful” corporate retreat during which the film “Mr. Banks” was screened, GE Retail’s executive team has officially decided to change the Synchrony name to something more accessible.

“We were tired of people complaining that the word was too hard to say,” one anonymous team member told PYMNTS. “We aimed at unique branding but we mostly just invented a drinking game for our interns. Something had to change, and the team really came together last week”

The time for that change is now, apparently. From here on out, the brand formerly known and Synchrony will heretofore be called Supercalifragilciousexpediadous.

(Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious)

“Hey, it’s different, and long, but people know how to say it, thanks to Mary Poppins … and with spell check, whenever people type it, it will self-correct so no need to worry about how to spell it…Also, if you say it loud enough, you’ll always sound precious, and I don’t think you can ask for much more in a brand name.”

Analysts  just shrugged at this announcement, with a majority of them noting “Yeah, it’s been a weird day.”
