Rumors are swelling that the Android Pay launch in Canada could come as soon as this fall.

The clues are in the fine print, if you will. Android Pay version 1.7’s biggest change seems indeed to be references to Interac in the various-language strings.xml files.

Speculation as to what this means for Android Pay users is the connection to Canadian’s largest banks and credit unions, including but not limited to ATB Financial, BMO, CIBC, Desjardins, National Bank of Canada, Meridian, Scotiabank and TD Canada.

Some experts say to not get too excited yet, as not every bank may get pulled into the Android Pay platform.
