A Toledo-based deal that would see a buyout of Rave Cinemas LLC by Cinemark Holdings is currently awaiting an official ruling by the US Department of Justice, placing 32 local theatres and 483 screens in limbo. The deal, first announced last November, affects 12 states. According to a spokesperson from Cinemark, which is based in Texas, the deal was supposed to encounter an official ruling by the end of March, but was delayed due to the January 20th inauguration of President Barack Obama. Despite the delay, the parties expect the deal to see a ruling by May.
