Spain: Probe launched into corrugated board market with office raid

Spain’s antitrust authority, the CNC, has reportedly raided offices as it launches an investigation into the corrugated board market. The headquarters of an association of the industry, the AFCO, were searched earlier this month in response to suspicion of price-fixing within companies that make pulp, paper and corrugated board and box products. Additionally, members of the industry are alleged to have colluded to divide the market amongst themselves. AFCO confirmed in a statement that raids were in fact conducted at its headquarters, and promised full cooperation with authorities during the investigation.
