A. Douglas Melamed

Douglas Melamed is Professor of the Practice of Law at the Stanford Law School. He was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Intel Corporation until 2015. Prior to joining Intel in 2009, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of WilmerHale, where he had been Chair of the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. He joined WilmerHale in 1971. Mr. Melamed served in the U.S. Department of Justice from October 1996 to January 2001 as Acting Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division and as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General. He has authored numerous articles on antitrust and on law and economics. He is a contributing editor of the Antitrust Law Journal, a life member of the American Law Institute, and a former member of the Yale University Council. Mr. Melamed received his B.A from Yale University in 1967 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1970, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Doug is now Professor of the Practice of Law at Stanford Law School.
