Andrea Amelio
Dr. Andrea Amelio joined the European Commission in September 2007. He worked in DG COMP’s Chief Economist Team and the Antitrust Policy and Support Unit. He is now First Counsellor in the EU Delegation to UK covering competition and energy policies. He has ample experience on merger, Article 101, Article 102 and State Aid policies and he has worked on several competition cases in a range of industries including basic industries, financial services, transport, digital markets and ICT. He holds a Ph.D in industrial economics from Toulouse School of Economics. His academic publications are in the field of industrial organization with a special focus on collusion, bundling and two-sided platforms.
