Amanda L. Butler

Amanda L. Butler is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Antitrust & Competition and Litigation practice groups. Her experience includes obtaining antitrust clearance for mergers and acquisitions and representing companies and individuals in criminal and civil antitrust matters. Her representations have spanned a wide array of industries, including aviation, aerospace, automotive, digital, mining, pharmaceutical, and railroad. She is additionally experienced in managing complex internal investigations for companies exposed to regulatory and criminal liability. Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Amanda was an associate in the D.C. office of another global law firm, where her practice focused on civil and criminal antitrust matters. She also previously served as a fellow at the International Justice Mission in India, where her work resulted in precedent affirming the application of a 2013 amendment to the Indian Penal Code criminalizing human trafficking to cases involving labor trafficking, and the creation of a comprehensive training manual for NGO lawyers handling such cases.
