James Donahue, III

James A. Donahue, III, graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, in 1980 with a B.A. degree in journalism and government. After working as a newspaper reporter for a year, Mr. Donahue entered Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. He graduated from Duquesne in 1984 with a J.D. degree. After admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Mr. Donahue worked for a small firm in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He joined the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General in 1985. In July 1997, he was appointed Chief Deputy Attorney General of the Antitrust Section. In 2004, Mr. Donahue won the Marvin Award from the National Association of Attorneys General for leadership in advancing the goals of the Association. Mr. Donahue was appointed Chair of the NAAG Multistate Antitrust Task Force and served in that position from 2009 to 2012. In. January 2013, Mr. Donahue became Executive Deputy Attorney General for the Public Protection Division, responsible for Antitrust, Charitable Trust, Consumer Protection, Civil Rights & · Special Litigation, Health Care and Tobacco Enforcement. From September 2016 until January 2017 he has also served as Acting Chief of staff. From February 2017 to March 2018, Mr. Donahue served as Senior Counsel to the Attorney General. He returned to the position of Executive Deputy Attorney General for the Public Protection Division, which now also includes the Fair Labor Section, in March 2018. Mr. Donahue is also admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
