Kun Huang
Kun Huang is a Partner with Econic Partners. Dr. Huang has extensive experience applying economic and quantitative analysis to areas including antitrust, intellectual property, damages and competition policy in China, the U.S., and other jurisdictions. His experience spans a broad range of industries including high tech, digital platforms, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, payments, transportation, publishing, chemicals, and medical devices. Dr. Huang has served as an outside economic expert to advise China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) on multiple cross-border and domestic mergers. He has submitted expert reports to both state and provincial antitrust authorities and served as a testifying expert on a variety of economic issues before courts in China, including before the Supreme People’s Court. Dr. Huang has been regularly invited to speak at conferences or seminars on competition, damages, and FRAND licensing issues. He has published articles in law and economics journals including the Antitrust Law Journal, Journal of Antitrust Enforcement, and Competition Law & Policy Debate. Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Economics from Peking University. Dr. Huang has substantial experience assisting clients with China-related matters, including merger filings, government investigations of antitrust violations, and civil litigations involving alleged anticompetitive practices and infringement of intellectual property rights. He has given seminars related to intellectual property damages and FRAND licensing issues to judges, government agencies, and IP attorneys at Chinese and international law firms. He has also been invited to speak in conferences on competition issues and published articles in law and economic journals.
