Prabhat Agarwal is Head of Unit at the European Commission, where he (co-)leads the work on the Digital Markets Act and the Digital Services Act. He holds a PhD in Physics from Cambridge University, and worked in industrial R&D in the field of semiconductor technologies prior to joining the European Commission in 2007. At the Commission, he has held a variety of different roles spanning research, innovation, and regulation mainly in the digital field.
