Rahul Rao

Rahul Rao is an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington, in the Antitrust Division of the Attorney General’s Office in Seattle, Washington. Among other things, Mr. Rao handles labor competition matters investigated and litigated by the Antitrust Division, including those involving no-poach agreements and non-compete covenants. Mr. Rao frequently writes and speaks publicly. He has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, appeared as part of a public workshop hosted by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, and has presented to the National Association of Attorneys General and sections of the American Bar Association. After beginning his legal career as a judicial clerk for the Chief Judge of the D.C. Court of Appeals, Mr. Rao joined the Trial Department at McDermott Will & Emery LLP in Washington, DC, where he focused on Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy, as well as Complex Commercial Litigation, White Collar and Securities Defense. Mr. Rao later moved to the Litigation Practice Group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in New York, New York, where he continued his focus on White Collar and Securities Defense. Mr. Rao received his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, in 2005, and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, in 2001.
