Wojciech Dorabialski

Wojciech Dorabialski is a Partner at Positive Competition. He has thirteen years of experience in competition policy as an economic expert and enforcer. Prior to joining Positive Competition Wojciech was the Director of Competition Protection Department at the Polish Competition Authority (UOKiK). During his tenure the Department managed to increase its investigative capabilities, doubled the annual number of dawn raids, launched a whistle-blower platform and initiated a number of high-profile cases ranging from bid-rigging, cartels, vertical agreements to abuse of dominance. Before taking the enforcement Department helm, Wojciech worked at UOKiK’s Market Analyses Department as an Economic Advisor engaged in merger and competition cases. He also drafted market reports and policy documents. Wojciech represented UOKiK at international forums: European Competition Network, International Competition Network and OECD. He served as an Expert in twinning and other assistance projects for the Competition Authorities of Egypt, Morocco, Georgia, Ukraine and Albania. His competition enforcement experience includes a secondment to the UK’s Competition Authority (CMA), where served in Phase I Mergers unit as a case handling economist. Wojciech’s other professional experience includes economic research at an independent research think tank (CenEA), freelance economic consulting, serving on Supervisory Boards of state-owned companies and teaching academic courses. Wojciech graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics with an M.A. in Quantitative Methods, obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Rice University in Houston, where he specialised in Game Theory, Industrial Organization. He is an author of several publications in the field of competition protection and a member of the Polish Competition Law Association.
