Amcor can proceed with Aperio acquisition without interference from ACCC

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will not intervene in Amcor’s proposed acquisition of Aperio Group. The two companies are flexible packaging suppliers. The ACCC’s decision comes after an extensive investigation and consultation with market participants. The Commission ultimately decided that the deal was unlikely to result in a “substantial lessening of competition in any market,” given robust competition for flexible packaging manufacturing both at home and abroad.
