America Movil asks Colombia to stop targeting them for regulation

America Movil has sent a letter to Diego Molano, Colombia’s Information Technology and Communications Minister. In the letter, dated May 15, America Movil asks the Colombian government to stop targeting the company for price controls and regulations. The government had proposed rules in September that would force America Movile to charge the same rate for calls on its network and to competitors. Rules also call for America Movil paying more to rivals to complete calls on their networks than what it can charge to receive calls from them.
