Australia: ACCC begins review of MYOB’s acquisition

On Friday, January 12, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said it would begin its review of MYOB Group’s planned acquisition of Reckon Ltd’s accounting practice management software business.

    In November, accounting software provider Reckon said it would sell the business for AU$180 million (US$141.86 million). MYOB independently stated that it would acquire all clients, intellectual property, systems and processes, and take in all employees of the Reckon accounting practice software business.

    Currently, the ACCC is accepting comments from third parties and will continue to do so until February 1.
