Brazil: CADE approves there transfer of NII Holdings

Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defence (Cade) has approved, the transfer of the 37 percent of NII Holdings to the fund Capital Research and Management, the largest holder of debentures of the US company, which controls Nextel Brasil, reports Teletime.

The process does not include the operations of subsidiaries in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. In its decision, Brazil’s antitrust authority said that the participation of Nextel Brasil in the mobile services market in Brazil is very low across the country. It therefore concluded there would be no anti-competitive effects resulting from the operation.
