Chilean Watchdog OKs American Airlines’ JetSmart Buy

Chile’s National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) unconditionally approved the entry of American Airlines into the ownership structure of JetSMART through the purchase of a minority percentage.

    “This Prosecutor’s Office has come to the conviction that the operation, if it materializes, is not apt to substantially reduce competition in the analyzed markets,” said the body in charge of supervising this type of transaction in Chile.
