China: Authorities target auto price-fixing

China’s National Development and Reform Commission announced Wednesday that it is investigating the auto parts industry for evidence of price-filing and other anticompetitive behavior, reports say.

    In a press conference in Beijing the NDRC confirmed it would look into allegations that car markers from around the globe colluded to hike car parts prices for auto repairs in China; the accusations emerged on state television last December.

    While details are scarce, the regulator confirmed it is currently conducting informal investigations and gathering documents regarding the case.
